Anyone who knows me knows that I fiercely love the work of several directors, Werner Herzog being at the top of the list. Old work, new work, exclusively German films . . . I can't really get enough of him. His voice, his vision, his camera work, his casts . . . I absolutely adore him. And I know he's not for everyone, but this film was absolutely one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a long, long time.
If you have a moment and want to watch something the whole family might enjoy this holiday season, this should be it. As an artist, I expect you, like I, might even cry over such a profound discovery and the beautiful way he captures it.
The girls were caught in the act of catapulting each other off a homemade seesaw. All them. I just happened to have enough sense to record it. Thank goodness.
Have you ever seen Million Dollar Mermaid? It is a wonderful, wonderful film. I found this mash-up of the water-dance scenes, and while I prefer the original music, the swimming and stunts are worth a watch! The girls adored these scenes. Who wouldn't?
You were still wondering: Yes, Mike was in that new Ben Affleck movie The Town. You have to watch nearly the whole thing (which wasn't so bad), and he appears in the Fenway Park scene where they are hatching some plan about stealing money. Red jacket. Big grin. Don't blink.

I think grandparents and other extended family will be happy to see all these early videos of Bea, that once lived on a private Vox blog, have now migrated over to Flickr. Enjoy her tininess. She's making my cry just looking at her, so small, and so, so sweet.
